The 6 short instrumental pieces explore the moods suggested by the traditional major and minor (natural, harmonic and mixed) scales. Enjoy this fast ride through psych rock, easy listening and latin jazz, classical orchestral music and some oriental flair.

Simple Dreams: It’s a simple emotional song, featuring a string section, a piano (for the first time in the project) and a flute. The melody is based on the C major scale, trying to reflect its simple beauty. Sometimes we need just simple things.
Serenidad: It’s a serene conversation between a flute and a trumpet in a caribbean mood. The melody is based on the C major scale, like Simple Dreams but this time I try to highlight the joyful side of this simple scale. Smile and move those feets…
Easy Goin': It’s a happy swing tune where a fiddle strolls around a small jazz band. The melody is based on the C major scale, but with an added blue note (a lowered third). With this addition, the happy major scale gets a mischievous tone…
A Glimmer of Hope: It’s a melancholic but hopeful composition for orchestra. The melody is based on the A minor scale, that inspired a passionate theme which called for an orchestral treatment (the first of the project).
Scheherazade: It’s a middle eastern sounding vignette with a minimal arrangement for Oud, Zither and Flute. The melody is an exploration of the vaguely oriental flavour of the A harmonic minor scale.
Sound of Past Moments: It’s a nostalgic retro rock instrumental sketch dominated by keyboards (an analog synth, a mellotron with flute tape, a piano). The melodies are based on a “hybrid” minor scale, that merges natural minor and harmonic minor flavours.
Blissful Serenade (REMIX): Born out of a sample of "Simple Dreams", a song I consider a bit cheesy but that was a favourite of my elder daughter. 5 years have gone by, my daughter is now studying abroad, and maybe that's why the serene atmosphere of the piece acquired a bit of a nostalgic tinge.
